Georgia

Acworth

  •  Pitner Road Dog Park. Cobb County Dog Park. The dog park is comprised of two adjoining but separately-fenced play areas for off-leash dogs with approximately 2 acres of space for larger and one acre of space for smaller dogs.  The dog lots have both open-space and shady, wooded areas with benched seating for dog owners. Each area has dog water fountains and “poop-mit” stations providing bags for owners to pick up after their pets. A gravel access road and parking lot with 50 parking spaces. A combination picnic shelter and restroom building (presently with four picnic tables) sits on a rise and overlooks the playground and dog lots. A multi-function playground for children ages 2 to 12 is between the picnic shelter and the dog lots and can be easily seen from the seating areas of both locations.

     Location: 2450 Pitner Road. Directions: From Cobb Pkwy Northbound. Turn left at Barrett Pkwy NW 1.8 mi. Turn right at Stilesboro Rd NW 6.1 mi. Alpharetta

  • Newtown Park. Fully fenced enclosure includes separate areas for small and large dogs, viewing area, staging area, and water pump. Location: 3125 Old Alabama Road. (Thank you Adrienne Reffett)
  • Waggy World Paw Park. A beautiful 1.5 acre area behind the Alpharetta Community Center at Wills Park. Waggy World Paw Park opened to the public on Monday, September 25, 2006. Paw park amenities include off-leash areas for large pups and small pups, water fountains, and park benches. Location: 175 Roswell Street. Directions: From GA 400: Take Old Milton Pkwy exit towards Alpharetta. Go approximately 2 miles. Wills Park is located on Old Milton Parkway between Roswell Street and Wills Road.   • Wolf Brook.  A unique private dog facility - Training, Recreation, Dog Daycare, enclosed clubhouse with full kitchen and bathroom facilities. Location: 13665 New Providence Road. (Thank you Annette Holbrook)

Athens

  • Athens Clarke County Dog Parks. 3 county parks with off-leash areas. The Athens-Clarke County area now has 3 county parks with off-leash areas: Memorial Park, Sandy Creek Park, & Southeast Clarke Park. (Thank you Laura Lovell)
  • Ben Burton Park. Designated off-leash play area. Location: Off Mitchell Bridge Road.

  • Sandy Creek Park. Fenced area. There is a nominal charge to get into the park. Location: Bob Holmen Road.

  • Memorial Park. Fenced in off leash dog park filled with trees, picnic benches, and water fountain in close proximity. City: Athens, Georgia. County: Athens-Clarke. Location: Gran Ellen Drive off of S. Milledge Avenue, Directions: located right in close proximity to the intersection of S. Milledge and East Campus Drive. (Thank you Theresa Sung)
  • Oconee Forest Park
    Lake, trees, restrooms, and benches, Location:  On College Station, across from UGA visitors Center, go behind the Off-Leash sign.

  • Petropolis Indoor Dog Park. Indoor park area for dogs and cats. Have play dates for pets as well as doggie daycare and a kitty city. Location: 112 F Athens West Pkwy. Directions: Off Atlanta Hwy. (Thank you Jennifer Ashley Coats)

  • Sandy Creek Park. 4 seperate off-leash areas, fenced, water & bowls. This park actually has 4 seperate fenced off-leash areas that are approx. 2 acres each. One is a free public area. The other 3 are available by reservation for $1/dog per hour. This means that even if your dog is not suitable for a public dog park you can still give him/her a safe, secure, wonderful off-leash romp in the park with only the companions you choose.   • UGA Intermural Fields. An open field with winding paths. Location: Off of College Station Road, accross from the UGA Health Center. Follow the road passed the soccer fields to get to the off-leash area. Park near the metal gate and walk down the gravel path, follow the signs.

Atlanta

  • Atlantic Station. Little space in the city, Benches for parents. Beautiful view of the city Plenty of light for after dark play. Location: State st, in between 16th and 17th street. Directions: 85 south, go to the 17th street exit, take a right towards Atlantic station, take a left at state st, the park is on the right side. (Thank you Natasha Azuero)
  • Henry Jones Dog Park. Off-leash dog park. Dunwoody/Atlanta area; fully wooded; roughly 4 acres; no water fountain, but a community water bucket provided; excellent volunteer group maintains park. Location: inside Brook Run Park, 4770 N. Peachtree Rd. Directions: approx. 1 mile north of I-285 on N. Peachtree Rd. in the Dunwoody section of Atlanta. (Thank you Laine Sweezey)
  • It is a neighborhood Park. Huge place for dogs to run freely! Atlanta, GA. Has a side for kids to play and a side for the dogs to play! Huge area, can run and run! Location: Coming from Buckhead on Peachtree Street: You will make a right onto Collier Road and is 1 mile down on the Left! Directions: Coming from Buckhead on Peachtree Street Heading to downtown Atlanta. Take a Right onto Collier Rd. and is about 1 mile down on the left side! (Thank you Gerri Denise Short)
  • Piedmont Park. Atlanta's largest dog park, fenced, running water in the city's largest in town park. Location: Midtown Atlanta bordered by Piedmont Avenue, 10th Street and Monroe Drive. Directions: Intersection of Piedmont Avenue and 10th Street. (Thank you Scott Chapman)

Cumming

  • Windermere Dog Park. Off Leash Dog Park. Location: 3355 Windermere Parkway. Directions: From GA-400 Exit 14 go SE on GA Hwy 20 (toward Sugar Hill) go approx. 4 miles. Turn right on Windermere Pkwy. Park on left. (Thank you David Kipp)

Decatur

  • Oakhurst Dog Park. (Now available only to Decatur residents - permits are required to use.) Approximately 2 acres, partly wooded with large open grassy area, completely fenced. Location: East Lake Drive. After rains, one low spot gets muddy, but the dogs don't mind. No water supply is provided. Directions: From downtown Decatur, go south on Commerce, and when Commerce dead ends into W. Howard Ave., turn right. Continue on W. Howard for several blocks. (W. Howard does not intersect with East Lake Drive) Turn right onto Paden Circle. Follow Paden Circle around the curve (about 300 feet), then turn right at the light onto East Lake Drive (which passes under the Marta bridge and W. Howard that you just got off of). Continue several blocks until the road veers sharply to the left. The park is on the left just before the Boys and Girls Club and across the street from The Phoenix School.   • Mason Mill Dog Park. New 1/2 acre public dog park with water fountain for dogs inside the fenced area. Location: 1400 McConnell Dr. (Thank you Dan Magee & Kimberly Shrewsberry)

Dunwoody

  • Brook Run Park. 2+ acre off leash fenced in dog park. Park is wooded, has open areas, walking paths, 4 double gates (one at each corner of the park, dogs and humans are having a great time! Location: 4770 North Peachtree Rd. Directions: From I-285 (eastbound): Take the CHAMBLEE-DUNWOODY RD exit- EXIT 30- toward N SHALLOWFORD RD / N PEACHTREE RD (0.3 mile). Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto SAVOY DR (1.0 mile). Turn LEFT onto N PEACHTREE RD (1.0 mile). From I-285 (westbound): Take the N PEACHTREE RD exit- EXIT 30- toward N SHALLOWFORD RD / CHAMBLEE-DUNWOODY RD (0.2 mile). Turn RIGHT onto N PEACHTREE RD (0.9 mile). Gainesville

  • Laurel Park. Great off leash park for dogs. Two large fenced in areas for both small and large dogs, lots of trees and great place for your pup to enjoy other dogs. Location: Off Highway 129(Cleveland Highway)Take exit 24 of I-985.Turn left onto Jesse Jewel Pkwy.Travel to Limestone Pkwy (2nd Light)turn right. Go to the end of Limestone and turn right onto Cleveland Highway. Park is 1 mile from the bridge on the right by New Bridge Baptist Church. Just follow the signs. (Thank You Claudia E. Wise)

Hampton

  • Bark Park. Brand new has fire hydrants and obstacle course . Location: 307 North Mt. Carmel Road. Directions: From I-75 Northbound: Exit 221 (Jonesboro Road) Turn Left - Go Approximately 2.3 Miles Turn Left on North Mt. Carmel Road. Park Entrance is on the left, less than 1/2 Mile. Kennesaw

  • Frank Boone Dog Park. Located inside of Swift-Cantrell Park. Swift-Cantrell Park's 1.4 acre off-leash dog park has 6-foot-high perimeter fencing, two separate run areas (for large and small dogs), a watering station, dog wash area, and disposable plastic waste bags and receptacle stations. The dog park is open from sunrise to sunset. Location: 3140 Old 41 Hwy. Directions: (just west of Kennesaw Elementary School) (Thank you Tamera Stucky)

Lawrenceville

  • Ronald Reagan Park. 2 Acres, 3 fenced areas, for small dogs, large dogs and a dog run. Water and bags available on site. A two-acre fenced-in area where dogs can play off their leashes. 25-acre park has a "senior" area with horseshoe pits, shuffleboard courts, bocce ball courts and a covered picnic pavilion with permanent chess and checkerboards. Other amenities include a small skate area, a playground, two half-court basketball courts, several covered picnic areas, a 3/4-mile paved multi-purpose trail and a small pond. Location: 2777 Five Forks Trickum Rd. Directions: Five Forks Trickum Exit off Ronald Reagan Pkwy. North about 1/2 mile. Directions: I-85 north to Pleasand Hill Road. Go south on Pleasant Hill to Ronald Reagan Parkway. Take Ronald Reagan to Five Forks Trickum Road, and turn left. The park is on your left. (Thank you Jon Richards, Norene Evans & Jerry)

Macon

  • Macon Dog Park. Location: Chestnut Street. Directions: From I-75 take exit #164 and head east toward downtown on Forsyth-Hardeman. At the first light, turn right onto Monroe. This street becomes Tatnall when you pass under the railroad bridge. Turn right again onto Chestnut Street and look for the park on the right after you cross Adams Street. Marietta

  • Lewis Park. Dog Park at the back end of the baseball field. Park Benches, Picnic Tables, Pet Station with Plastic Bags. Location: 475 Campbell Street. Directions: 75 north to exit 267B (the white water exit...i think it's 120 North)  turn left.  continue for about 2 miles (crossing over Cobb pkwy).  turn right on Cherokee street.  make first left onto sessions street.  continue past church St. and Campbell hill St.  make right on St. josephs way.  park is on the right.   • Sweat Mountain Park (East Cobb). 4 acres. Off Leash Dog Park. Marietta, Georgia. Two fenced areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs. Nice shaded area, fenced, benches, trash cans and doggie bags, water. Location: 4346 Steinhauer Rd. (approximately one mile north of Lassiter High School). Directions: From I-75 (N) & Canton Rd Conn NE, Marietta: Head northeast from Canton Rd Conn NE. Bear right and head toward Sandy Plains Rd NE. Turn left at Trickum Rd NE. Turn right at Shallowford Rd NE. Turn left at Steinhauer Rd NE. Go 1.2 miles and turn right just past short bridge into park entrance. The  facility is located at Sweat Mountain Park, which is in northeast Cobb County on Steinhauer Road, approximately one mile north of Lassiter High School. (Thank you Virginia Ayers & Emma Callie)

Norcross

  • Graves Park. Has both large & small dog areas. Includes some agility equipment. Opened Oct. 2006. Location: 1450 Graves Rd. Directions: Take I-85 to Jimmy Carter Blvd exit & go East. Turn right onto McDonough Dr. (Oakbrook Pkwy.) Turn left on Graves Rd. Park is on the right.(Thank you Laura Lovell)
  • Pinckneyville Dog Park. Just under three acres, the fenced-in dog park allows dogs to play off-leash and includes an area for small dogs, a larger play area for all dogs, and two water fountains featuring dog bowls. The dog park is an exciting addition to Pinckneyville Park's current features, which include a seven-field baseball/softball complex, concession buildings, restrooms, a 1.1-mile paved multi-purpose trail, family pavilion, four playgrounds, roller hockey rink, and a free-skate area. The park is also home to the 5,000-square-foot Medlock Pavilion. Pinckneyville Park is located at 4758 S. Old Peachtree Rd. in Norcross. For more information call 770.822.8840. Peachtree City

Roswell

  • Mountain Park Dog Park.  Large Fenced-In Dog Park. Two large fenced-in areas next to Leita Thompson Park on HWY 92 at Bowen/Mt. Park Rd. Trails and Lake behind park. Area for small and large dogs. Location: Hwy 92 and Bowen/Mt. Park Rd. Directions: From Sandy Plains Rd. go east on HWY 92. Go about 3 miles. Park is on left before Bowen rd and the Super Target (must make u-turn if coming from this direction). (Thank you Mike Buglione)

Savannah

  • Savannah Dog Park. The Savannah Dog Park is located on 41st and Drayton streets in Savannah, Georgia’s Starland Community and is the city’s first park dedicated solely to dogs and their owners. The dog park offers a shaded, fenced-in area where your dog can play and socialize with other dogs off the leash. The mission of the park is to enhance the bond between people and their pets in an urban environment. The Savannah Dog Park Association will promote responsible dog ownership while providing educational opportunities for owners and promoting the health of their pets. Smyrna

  • Burger Park. Off-Leash park. Small dog area for 30 lbs and smaller and a large dog area. Location: 680 Glendale Place. Directions: Just west of South Cobb Drive and south of Windy Hill Road in Smyrna and is adjacent to Belmont Hills Elementary School. Not sure where there's parking, except perhaps on weekends at the school. (Thank you Karen Holmes)
  • Lake Court Park. Just opened, right off S. Cobb Drive in Smyrna City limits. Location: 3500 Lake Drive. Directions: Right off S. Cobb drive near Concord. (Thank you Amanda Hall & JP Myers)

Snellville

  • Lenora Park. Dog park. Location: Corner of Lenora Church Rd and Lee Road. (Thank you Jennifer Twineham)

Stone Mountain

  •  Stone Mountain Dog Park. 4th Street Dog Park, 2 sections. Large and small dog sections, one block from the main street parking area (by the railroad car) or the Marta park and ride lot. Easy walk down to the shops on main street from the park.  Benches provided, and everyone tends to run all the dogs together in the big lot, leaving the small section empty.  There is a manually operated water pipe for the dogs. Location: 4th street, under the old railroad bridge into the park.  Now it is a walk / cycle (free) entrance into stone mountain park. Directions: From Main Street, take E. Mountain to 4th street, make a right turn.  Pass the Marta parking lot, and the dog park is visible one block down.  From outside Stone Mountain Village, follow directions to Arts Station on 2nd/3rd street, and continue one block further to 4th Street. Tifton

  • Peach Creek Puppy Playground. Dog park with leash free area, picnic tables, water supplies, Doggipot station and store that sells dog supplies and treats. Location: 1310 US Hwy 82 West. Directions: Exit 62 off of Interstate 75, turn left, located behind Wendy's/Shell on Hwy. 82. (Thank you Kelli Strickland)

Tybee Island

  • Tybee Bark Parks. Two off-leash, fence-enclosed areas. One for smaller (under 20 lb) dogs, and one for bigger dogs, or small dogs with attitude! Location:  Memorial Park. 401 Butler Avenue. & Fort St at Van Horne near River's End Campground. Directions: US Highway 80 East, turn left (or northbound) at Polk Street toward campground. Dog Fun Etiquette
  1. Make sure to bring something (like a pooper scooper or bags) to pick up the mess your dog(s) make. Always clean up after your dog.
  2. Bring some water for your dog and a leash (just in case)
  3. Don't bring your dog if it is aggressive
  4. Don't let your pet wander too far. Always keep an eye on them.
  5. If the park is near a residential area, minimize the barking.
