Michigan



Bay City

  • Central Bark. Fenced dog park on the Bay County Fairgrounds site. Location: 800 Livingston St. Directions: From I-75, exit at 162-A onto M-25, the Downtown Bay City exit. from there stay on M-25 and head east over the river and through Bay City. When you get to Livingston Street at the edge of the city limits there will be a light. Make a left. Go for about 1/8 of a mile and the park and county fairgrounds will be on the right. Brighton / Howell

  • E-Z Dog Park and Training. 8 acres with 3 separate parks. 8 fenced acres, 3 separate parks, full agility course included in park use. Small daily fee of $5 per dog or $25 a month for unlimited use. ($10 for second dog belonging to same family) Nature trail, toys, and water for the dogs to cool off in. For safety purposes, no small dogs and no children under 16 please. Location: NW corner of Hacker and Norlynn Dr. Directions: Located near I-96, M-59, and U.S. 23. Cascade (Grand Rapids area)

  • Shaggy Pines Dog Park. Requires membership (except on Sundays), but offers TONS of fun for you and your friend: water, mud, dirt, trails, a clubhouse, benches, self-serve dog wash, and lots, lots more on this 20 acre dog park. Requires proof of vaccinations. Be sure to check the website for info before you go! Location: 3895 Cherry Lane SE. Directions: Take I-96E to Cascade Rd., go east to 36th St, turn L onto 36th, go east until you get to Cherry Lane, turn R, head south to Shaggy Pines (it's pretty hard to miss). Flushing

  • Key-Lore Woof Woods Dog park. 2 acre off-leash play area. 7 acres of wooded trails. Special events planned. Open all year. Picnic area for dog clubs or doggie birthday parties. $35 annual membership. Nominal $1 daily use fee. Location: 7185 Gillette Rd. Directions: Located 5 miles West of I-75 Exit #126 (Mt. Morris Rd). Approx 10 miles South of Frankenmuth/Birch Run Mall area. (Thank you Sharon Keillor)

Holland

  • Ottawa County Dog Park. Large and small dog friendly park. There is a double gated entrance with both a large and small dog section. During the summer months there is running water for the dogs. And if they are stocked there are bags provided for pick up, but it is always nice to bring one just in case. Location: Located on Ottawa Beach road. It is on the Ottawa County Fair Grounds property. Jackson

  • Cascades Humane Society. New Paw Playground. Free to the public. Open daily dawn to dusk. 1.5 fenced-in acres. Location: 1515 Carmen Drive. Directions: off Elm Street, 2 blocks South of Interstate 94. We're past the post office. (Thank you Jessica Mitchell)

Lyon Oaks

  • Lyon Oaks Bark Park. Daily or annual vehicle permit required. Features a 13-acre fenced enclosure with benches and picnic tables; drinking water nearby, water fountain and shelter. Location: 52251 Pontiac Trail (between Old Plank and Wixom Roads). Directions: From I-696 exit Wixom Road to North. Turn left on Pontiac Trail. Lyon Oaks County Park is about 1.5 ahead on the left. Once in the park, follow the signs to the Bark Park. (Thank you Anne Moore)

Mount Clemens

  • Behnke Dog Park. 2 acres, fully fenced, dog water fountain, benches, trees, pooper. Located at Lafayette & Groesbeck in Mount Clemens, MI. Take M-59 (Hall RD) to M-97 (Groesbeck Road)...go south on Groesbeck.  You will pass a stop light, a large factory (on your left), and an old fighter plane (on your right).  Soon after the factory, you will see baseball fields on your left.  Turn left on to the street just after the fields.  There is a sign on the street that reads, "Distribution Center."  The dog park is on your right. Muskegon

  • Dog Star Ranch. Membership dog park. 48 acre Canine Care Facility. 4200 Whitehall Road. (Thank you Virginia Erbland)

Pleasant Ridge

  • Pleasant Ridge Dog Run. Fenced-in dog run, 1/2 mile long by 150ft wide. Location: Near I-696 and Grand Trunk RR. Benches, limited parking, water fountain. Key-card entry for $25 for residents and $50 for non-residents. Call 248-542-7322 for more info. Directions: Take I-696 to Woodward, go south on Woodward to first turnaround, then head north on Woodward to Sylvan. Turn right on Sylvan, then left on Indiana and take until it dead ends. Orion Oaks

  • Orion Oaks Dog Park. Offers 7-acre fenced enclosure, including two trails, water, field area, and access to Lake Sixteen for swimming. Location: Clarkston Road, between
    Baldwin & Joslyn Roads.

Orion Township

  • Orion Oaks Dog Park. Off-leash dog park. Location: Joslyn Road in Orion Twp. Directions: LYON OAKS DOG PARK. Offers 14-acre fenced enclosure with water and picnic shelter for shade. Dog Park offers: Commemorate your canine friend with a brick paver. Pet waste bags (provided by Pet Supplies Plus). Pumped drinking water. Picnic tables and benches. Portable toilets. Hours: ½ hour before sunrise to ½ hour after sunset.  Cost: Daily pass or Annual Vehicle Permit required. For the safety of all dogs and visitors, please note: Dogs must be on a six-foot leash until inside enclosure. Maximum of two dogs per visitor. Dogs must have current license, up-to-date vaccinations, respond to voice command and be in visual control. Dogs under four months of age not permitted. Dogs must be accompanied by an adult (age 18 or older) at all times, even inside the enclosure. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult. Owners are responsible for pets at all times. Use at your own risk. Those creating problems will be asked to leave. Dogs in heat may not enter the park. No food allowed in the dog park. Please clean up pet waste; bags provided on site. Other Oakland County Parks welcome dogs too. Canines are welcome at Addison Oaks, Groveland Oaks, Independence Oaks, Orion Oaks, Rose Oaks and Waterford Oaks. Please note that dogs are NOT allowed on nature trails at Lyon Oaks County Park. Nor are they allowed in any waterways (except where postings allow), buildings, picnic areas or golf courses throughout the parks system. Dogs visiting the Oakland County Parks are required to be on a six-foot-long leash unless inside a Dog Park enclosure. (Thank you Desiree Stanfield)

Saint Joseph

  • St. Joseph's Kiwanis Park. Large and Small dog areas completely fenced, benches, shade, doggie drinking fountain and scooper bags provided. Kiwanis Park includes 6 tennis courts, a softball field, 2 horse-shoe pits, two shuffleboard courts, a basketball court, a picnic shelter, and a skateboard center in addition to the dog park. For more information call: St. Joseph Parks and Rec. Dept at 269.983.6341. Location: Corner of Langley Avenue and Pearl Streets. Directions: Park is SE of downtown area. Take Broad Street SE from center of town. Street name changes to Langley. Turn NW on Pearl Street. Kiwanis Park is immediately to left. (Thank you Karen Colston)

Saline

  • Mill Pond Park.  A large area of the park is fenced in for the dog park. The area is open to the Saline River to allow your pet to swim. Location: End of W. Bennett St. just past elementary school. The dog area is in the back of the park - closer to the woods. Directions: Off W. Michigan Ave (US12): North on Mills Rd - West on W. Bennett St. - end in parking lot of park Off N. Ann Arbor St: West on W. Bennett St. -end in parking lot of park. (Thank you Kristen Roy)

Saugatuck

  • Tails and Trails. Large and small dog park. This park is very nice, leashed until inside the fence. Double gate entrance. As donations come in, they are adding and making improvements. Great place to take the dogs to run, they are suppose to be adding trails to it also! There are trees grass area and sand areas in the run, please remember to pick up after your pets bags are usually supplied, as long as someone has stocked them, so smart to come prepared. I tried to find this park online and it only comes up with one with the same name on the opposite side of the state, so don't get the two confused! Directions: exit 41 head east follow brown signs that say tails and trails...you do have to go onto dirt roads. (Thank you Rachel Giller)

Troy

Warren

  • Dog Park. Park for unleashed dogs. Location: 12 Mile Rd and Van Dyke Ave. You need a swipe card to enter the fenced in park, you can get this from the City County bldg which is on Common Rd and Van Dyke. Directions: 1 block west of Van Dyke right of 12 mile road; go west on 12 mile past the Speedway service station on the corner of Van Dyke, "Dog Park" sign on the west side of the street. Westland

  • Hines Park. 2 fenced in areas one for big dogs and one for small dogs. Location: Merriman and Ann Arbor Trail. Directions: Depending on which direction you are driving, north or south on Merriman, turn into the park, at the first stop sign make a right. Make that first left around the circle. When you see a crossing bridge, park in that area, walk across the bridge and the 2 fenced in areas will be on your left. (Thank you Nadine Mullen)

     

 


 
Dog Fun Etiquette
  1. Make sure to bring something (like a pooper scooper or bags) to pick up the mess your dog(s) make. Always clean up after your dog.
  2. Bring some water for your dog and a leash (just in case)
  3. Don't bring your dog if it is aggressive
  4. Don't let your pet wander too far. Always keep an eye on them.
  5. If the park is near a residential area, minimize the barking.
